Annual Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Fairfield Harbour Garden Club Scholarship was established to encourage students to further their education in a field of study related to agriculture, agri-business management, botany, environmental studies, forestry, horticulture, or landscaping. The Scholarship, of $1000.00, is awarded annually.

APPLICATION CRITERIA

The applicant shall:

1. Be eligible for high school graduation in Craven or Pamlico counties in 2024 or be enrolled in one of the stated fields of study in a college or community college
2. Be accepted or already enrolled at a college, university, or community college
3. Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0
4. Submit a completed application to the Fairfield Harbour Garden Club Scholarship Chairperson no later than April 16, 2024.

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. The applicant shall submit:
   • a completed Fairfield Harbour Garden Club application form
   • a recent photo
   • essay
   • two (2) letters of recommendation; one from a teacher and one from a guidance counselor or Head of School.
2. The applicant shall forward all of the materials to the Scholarship Chairperson of the Fairfield Harbour Garden Club prior to the April 16, 2024 deadline.

FUNDING PROCESS

Monetary awards for scholarship winners will be sent directly to the college/university/community college once the student is registered and assigned a student ID number. That number should be provided to the Fairfield Harbour Garden Club Treasurer by August 1. (Treasurer information will be provided to the scholarship recipient.)
